Event Details

On February 29 and March 1, 2012, the inaugural First Nations Conference on Sustainable Buildings and Communities will bring together a diverse group of participants to start a conversation about the vision, planning, design and operations of sustainable buildings and community facilities for Canada's First Nations.


WHO SHOULD ATTEND:

The Conference is expecting 200 delegates ranging from First Nations Elders and Council Leaders, to Environmental Scientists, Architects, Engineers, Sustainability Leaders, Educators and Students.

Sustainable Buildings Consortium



The Sustainable Buildings Consortium is a non-profit research institute dedicated to green buildings/green materials research and development, as well as public policy advocacy related to the integration of environmentally preferable standards for buildings and communities. The Consortium was created by Manasc Isaac Architects in 1999. Its vision is to reduce the environmental footprint of, and enhance the quality of life in buildings, by developing new materials, systems and strategies that enable others to achieve their goals of designing and constructing sustainable buildings.

This vision is realized through research, product design, teaching, and holding conferences related to the design of sustainable buildings and communities.
